Game Questions-Character Based | Game Questions-Planet Based

Everything is silent when you awaken. When you open your eyes, you are beside a fountain in the heart of a massive, formerly abandoned city. It may look familiar to you with its towering buildings or this may be the first time you've been on a world with so much technology. Either way, it is clear that time has done a number on this place. Many, but not all, buildings are overrun with plants or tumbling down. The closest thing to you that looks whole and immediately intriguing is a hovering, glowing orb. It calls to you. Unable to fight the call, you're standing and moving forward to touch the smooth surface.

The minute your hand makes contact the entire world vanishes. A force like white fire crashes through your mind, blazing through it without pain. You are downloading information like a computer. Once it's done, this is what you will know:

This planet you're on is called Agra 10. It is now home for you, just as it was once home for the Agrii people. Centuries have passed since anyone has been able to live here, though. Agra 10 is a dying world thanks to inexplicable and debilitating energy storms that have destroyed everything in their paths. The download doesn't contain information about the source of the storms are but it does certainly show how deadly they were for the Agrii.

In ages past, this proud race had a thriving world full of advanced and sophisticated technology. Agra 10 had been a planet of millions when the first energy storm came and immediately destroyed an entire city. After that, they came more and more frequently, leaving devastation in their path. For decades the Agrii concentrated all their efforts on trying to stop it. They lived in fear until, finally, the race of millions had been cut down to a small population of hundreds all huddled together in the heart of their capital, Temba.

That is where you are now.

Temba is the most intact area left, which says a lot about the rest of the planet. When the remaining Agrii left, they did their best to set up Data Points around the city to explain what happened and to help guide anyone who might arrive and was able to fix things. They will likely aid you on your path forward

But how did you get here? Why are you here and not in your home? What are you supposed to be doing?

That information is not included. To find out you're going to have to explore the city. Hopefully you're not alone. In fact, you think you might hear people off in the distance. Some might even sound familiar...

✧ PREMISE ✧

Just like The Drift Fleet, the number-one priority here is to have fun. This game is structured as a slice-of-life, adventure, and survival game where you have the opportunity to pick whichever of those elements you wish and avoid those that you do not. Almost all events will have at least three options, each supporting the three aspects of the game: SOL, Survival, and Adventure. Which path your character travels here is entirely up to you as we will give plenty of IC reasons to push along even the most stubborn of characters. As the game progresses and more complex elements are added, you are welcome to take or avoid them as you wish. Just please know that there will be some events that uncover larger and perhaps surprising truths about your new home. Not all is what it seems. That said, games and role playing are meant to be fun and, while we want you to take advantage of the setting, how you do so is yours to decide.

The Revival Project is a jamjar game that picks up after The Drift Fleet concludes. While it is a spin-off game, it is only loosely connected to the plot there and anyone can join regardless of their presence in The Drift Fleet. For characters that are coming over from DF, there is the option to either be yanked out of your world once more or to be abducted moments after endgame. If the latter, you are also able to do a canon update prior to joining if mentioned in the application. Characters who left The Drift Fleet prior to endgame are also welcome to rejoin with CRAU intact.

All characters who arrive on Agra 10 will wake up in the capital city beside the only working Data Point. These glowing orbs are scattered all around the planet and, once touched, will provide the user with instantly downloaded information. The first Data Point will explain to your character why they are there and what the Agrii hope that they will do. More Data Points will allow your character to gain expertise that will assist them both on quests off-world or with the efforts planet-side, but they will need to be found and activated before that is possible.

Your character’s ‘expertise’ is the role they will play on Agra 10. It will also help assign you to a clan or, if altered, move you from one clan to another. These clans are groups of up to ten people stuck here, just like you. Likely they’re going to be from different times or even different universes so try to be polite as you get to know them. Your clan will be the support for the ship you inevitably find as well as those you will travel with aboard it. They also may be the only people you will have any connection to for awhile. For all you know, you and your clan are here alone and for who knows how long?

Only the Agrii know. These mysterious people have been so decimated and scattered by energy storms on Agra 10 that they don’t even know how to interact with others anymore. Along with you reviving their world, the Agrii are also going to be watching you constantly to learn from you. In some inexplicable way, even from (potentially) lightyears away, the Agrii can exert influence over you. But don’t worry. They mean well even if they are bad at showing it sometimes. After all, there is a reason they watched The Drift Fleet and risked so much to not only steal the strongest people from there, but also to steal the technology to grab more. You are their saviors.

And maybe once you save them, they’ll finally send you home.

If there's one thing that we mods like to do it's talk about how we can improve the game and/or player experience. Sometimes this leads to new or refreshed events and event styles, sometimes it helps us build up the metaplot in new ways, and sometimes, it's talking about the moving parts of things like Activity Check. This last one has been on our mind for a while. While we do like the Activity System as it currently is, that doesn't mean that we can't see ways in which to improve it for a better experience, and how they could benefit the players and game.

Right now we are still the thought and discussion phase, and because of that have come up with a few alternative AC schema we'd like player feedback on. None of these are actually in place to implement yet, and ultimately if this discussion leads to positive feedback on the idea of making a change, we'll have an anonymous poll on what players think the ultimate decision should be. For now we're looking to let you know there is discussion going on, and asking for your feedback because we want to know if you see additional pros or cons to any one plan, or can suggest a different plan that might work.

Again, all of this is still only in the thoughts and comments phase, and nowhere near being instituted. Please continue to follow the current AC system as it is listed on the AC page. When we make the change, you will receive one month of warning if it's a large change, or a shorter warning if it's a simpler one. So, without further ado, here are the currently discussed options.

Note: All systems will still allow for hiatuses AND players can still reach out to mods in extenuating situations.

First, let's look at what the current AC system is.
