In one of the buildings in the town square - the one that once held a welcome party for the new arrivals - all signs of the feast have vanished. The scribbles on the wall now read "HE ROW SOUP LIES," accompanied by several instances of the word "ASK" in various colors and sizes. Beside that is written "us thank they!"

The tables have been replaced by one large bright pink box. The word "ASK" is also written on it multiple times.

The Replicator

Ever since the Agrii sent the He-Rows to Risa, the Replicator has become a permanent fixture next to the Soup Lies box, useful for things that the Soup Lies cannot provide or may be too complicated for the Agrii to understand. Information about the full functions of the replicator are available in the game FAQ. If you have any questions not addressed there, please ask them on the FAQ.

Using the Replicator does not require you to post here.

At least, partly. You'll receive a variety of empty cans, complete with the "original"(?) labels (that you may or may not want).

Instead of a book, though, you get these flashcards (in actual paper format).

No. I can't can thing like that. I'm not a machine and I don't know how. And these instructions don't tell me HOW. I need glass jars and instructions. Unless you guys are going to send us full cans of food. We can't live on protein paste alone. The greenhouse is useless if we can't keep the food long term. And we can't make glass jars and their lids.

Yeah, guys. It makes us happy. But it's more than that. It means we can have flavors that you only get in spring in other times of the year too. And if something goes REALLY wrong like the greenhouse gets damaged or the plants get sick, we still have fresh food.

Keeping food long term is SUPER important to us being healthy and surviving.

I can't do much with this number of jars, but I can at least preserve whatever has, like, vitamin C so we won't get scurvy.

[ Use the replicator has been said by several people. He'll ask for parts when he needs them. ]

I need fuel for a motorcycle. [ He knows asking for weapons won't work but he stares at the replicator. It's the only other weapon he can use. ] A wooden baseball bat.

For some reason, nothing happens with this request. There is no note. No well-meaning but ultimately incorrect interpretation. There is nothing from the Agrii and the replicator sputters and shorts out before it does much.

Supplies seem to be cut off.

Cloud is not at all amused by the outcome. He thought he did everything correctly. Maybe there was more to it? He wasn't entirely sure since everyone made it seem as if it was easy to use. The suggestion of starting out slow wasn't bad. A wooden baseball bat shouldn't have been a problem. Maybe there was? He frowns while looking at the shorting. He presses his fingers against the bridge of his nose. He's annoyed.

For a moment he looks it over but then remembers the device is from here. He guesses now is good to access a datapoint that Reeve suggested.

When he comes back with Engineering knowledge... will he see anything out of the ordinary?

If Cloud comes back with Engineering knowledge, he will see that the replicator has overloaded. It seems as though a surge of power from an unknown source was sent into it when Cloud asked for an item. Key parts have been burned out that are responsible for the replication process.

The power surge was pretty specific.

Around the room, everything else looks normal.

Cloud's coming back with the knowledge of Engineering. It would have taken him sometime but this gives everyone supplies. He's not about to leave it without looking into it. But he's questioning how Cayde could ask for bullets and get scraps of metal easily, yet it breaks on being extra specific on the make of things.

The power surge will catch his eye. What needs replacing?

What are the parts? Are they easy parts to find? If nothing else in the room is burnt to hell, is there anything outside that would suggest the power surge came from where the replicator is placed?
