TIPS & TRICKS

We'd like to provide a couple of handy tips, tricks, and code that can help make your DWRP experience easier. If you have any codes/tips you'd like to share, please comment and we'll consider adding them!

- To ensure you never miss a mod post in the OOC community, click on a given post (for example, this one and click the bell icon in the box just under the username info at the top of the post. Choose "More Options" (and unselect the "Someone comments on..." at the top of the list) and select the last option under "Track Entries to this Journal": [personal profile] trpmods posts a new entry to [community profile] revivalprojectooc. Then you'll receive a notif (however you've opted to receive them) whenever the mods make a post.

- [personal profile] vivi's Gmail Label Tutorial is great if you use Gmail and would like to learn how to use labels to keep characters, games, and any other types of posts straight.

Taking a break from this case study for some tip sharing: hiding spoilers with black "censor" bars.

For example: This sentence is not a spoiler. Oh noes! This section contains a spoiler! If you highlighted that blacked-out text with your mouse, you could read it. But those who want to safely scroll on by won't fall into the trap of their eyes just happening to catch on spoiler text.

The code to do such is:

Note that it overrides the colors for both background and text, so it should be pretty universal on any layout and for both computer and mobile view.

By the way, the "tips" post isn't actually linked in navigation anywhere... and the "expanded navigation" that's on the main/ooc/mod journal sticky entries, isn't on the main/ooc/mod journal profile pages. Not sure if this was deliberate or not!
